  • “…time to have a chat with friends helps us realise we can all help each other. There is no need to suffer alone.”

What we do

From helping you access services locally to fund-raising, national awareness and lobbying, we are active in our aim to see a World Free of MND.

Association
Visitors

Professionally trained and supervised MND Association Visitors are always on hand whether at the end of a phone or in the comfort of your own home, to help you with managing expectations, accessing benefits or obtaining required equipment.

Funding
Assistance

We understand it can be incredible difficult to cope with the financial burden of any adaptation. Through our local donations the branch is able to provide equipment which is not available or not available quickly enough from statutory services.

Branch
Meetings

We hold Branch meetings regularly, run entirely by local volunteers. It’s a great way to connect with others, find out what’s coming up and discover new ways to get involved. We are always on the lookout for people with new ideas and energy.

Fund
Raising

Fundraising events of all shapes and sizes are held throughout the year, either organised by the branch or by members themselves. All help is appreciated – even behind the scenes on the day – so if you have any ideas or time we’d love to hear from you.

Awareness
& Lobbying

Championing the cause of those affected by MND is an important aspect of what we are about. We engage with organisations and institutions locally and nationally to fight for better support, care and understanding of living with the challenges of MND.

Research
Support

Half of all money from the branch goes to support the national MND Association charity in it’s endeavours to fund and promote research that leads us to new understanding and treatments, and bring us closer to a cure for MND.
