Marking 40 years of the Motor Neurone Disease Association

In 1979 a group of families affected by motor neurone disease came together for the first time. With little information, co-ordinated care or support available they felt ‘isolated’ and ‘helpless’. The time, hard work and dedication of those founding members created a charity which, thanks to four decades of energy and expertise given by thousands of volunteers, supporters and staff is now looking to the future with a fresh optimism that we will deliver our vision of a world free from MND.
